Pressing Forward in the New Year

Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)-“No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

Last year, 2015, we trust that some or all of your goals were met. Already, yesterday and today, people have said what they were going to do in this coming year, 2016. Let us all believe together, for each other, that this will be a year of great victories for the Kingdom of God as we press on in Jesus’s Name. Not any of us have a real idea of how the goals we want to achieve will come to pass. Only God knows how He will dispatch the Holy Spirit to lead and provide for us in the pursuit of HIS endeavors.

Let this be one of our primary goals: 2 Corinthians 5:18 (NLT) “…And God has given us this task of reconciling people to HIM.” Then in verse 20 we find this: “So we are Christ’s Ambassadors; God is making HIS appeal through us.” There should be no conflict in us about this verse. Simply, we should be busy for the Kingdom, bringing people to God. This is a serious thing. Watch the rest of verse 20: “We speak for Christ when we PLEAD, ‘Come back to God!'”

Paul said, “Forget the past (last year) and look forward (to the New Year) and press on to reach the goal that Christ Jesus has for you” (My interpretation). Souls need your testimony of a living Savior. Determine to be used by God in 2016, more than in 2015. It is a new day, a new year and a new set of marching orders!

Be Blessed and have a Happy New Year!
