Prayer for Our Nation
Genesis 12:2-3 (NKJV) – “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” This is the Word of God to Israel. However, we can pray these thoughts about America. Also, Romans 10:21 (NKJV) says, “But to Israel he says: ‘All day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and contrary people.'” He is doing the same for the United States. Our prayers should reflect God’s desire for us to be a righteous nation (Proverbs 14:34). On the surveys that were turned in Wednesday evening some said we should pray our Nation return to the righteous principles of our founding fathers and be one Nation under God again.
Prayer for the Church
Acts 2:46-47 (NKJV) – “So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” Our survey revealed the need to pray for unity among the churches in a community or nation. Also, several said that we must pray for revival.
Prayer for the Family
Malachi 4:6 (NKJV) – “‘And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.'” Overwhelmingly on the survey the need of this fatherless generation has to be addressed through prayer, teaching and example.
